Research Consultation Hour
Do you have a question for the next research consultation? Why are work titles updated? Why do scientists check the provenance of their own museum artefacts? Why is Saxony returning its Benin bronzes? The Dresden State Art Collections' research consultation hour is dedicated to these and other questions. Do you have a contribution, a question or a request for the next research consultation?
Forschungssprechstunde
Forschungssprechstunde
It is aimed at anyone who is interested in finding out more about the research processes and content of the collections and the Research Department. We invite you to get involved. Our aim is to make the decision-making and research processes in the museum transparent and comprehensible based on your questions and concerns.
You can reach the Research Consultation Hour at the following e-mail address: forschungssprechstunde(at)skd.museum
The more specific your question is, the better. Please choose an example, an object or a situation to illustrate your request.
Consultation hours are open to everyone. At the moment, however, it is not a public event. Rather, it is organised as a consultation in which you can present your concerns. Consultation hours are usually held in the Japanese Palace, or we can choose a location in the collections depending on your enquiry.
The research consultation hour takes place every first Tuesday of the month for submitted questions. In order to be able to follow up your request carefully, we ask that you send us your question ideally around 14 days before the consultation hour.
Anything that interests you in relation to museum, exhibition and research practice at the SKD. This can also include questions about the social role of the museum. Contact us if you have read or seen a media report that raises questions or if you have found something in an exhibition that makes you uncomfortable.
