    Im Frühjahr dieses Jahres übergaben die Völkerkundemuseen in Leipzig und Dresden digitalisierte historische Fotografien nach Palau. Der 1994 unabhängig gewordenen Inselstaat hat eine wechselvolle Geschichte und steht heute im Fokus strategischer Interessen der USA, Chinas und Taiwans. Der Vortrag erzählt über das Bestreben, die eigene kulturelle Identität, Traditionen und die Naturschönheiten der tropischen Inseln zu bewahren und sich Problemen wie Klimawandel und wirtschaftliche Abhängigkeiten zu stellen.
