SAVE THE DATE | Press conference on “Kaleidoscope of (Hi)stories. Ukrainian Art 1912–2023”

17 March 2023

Das Albertinum der Staatlichen Kuns

Starting on 6 May 2023, the Albertinum, run by Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD), will be presenting modern and contemporary art from Ukraine. This is the first exhibition of its kind in Germany. Paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations, videos, works on paper and archives by some 50 artists will be on display, offering insights into Ukraine’s turbulent past and present, and the country’s constant struggle to define itself. While much of the art has been newly produced, some historical works will be leaving the country for the first time.

The exhibits have been brought together from private collections and museums such as the National Art Museum of Ukraine, the Odesa Fine Arts Museum, the National Folk Decorative Art Museum, the Stedley Art Foundation, the Prymachenko Family Foundation, the Dovzhenko Centre and MOCA NGO. The exhibition is also complemented by works on loan from the Art Collection Telekom and the German Bundestag’s Artothek.
