Paula Modersohn-Becker & Otto Modersohn

An exhibition by the Galerie Neue Meister in the series “Schaukabinett“
November 26, 2010 to March 27, 2011

The Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden received an important and generous donation: five paintings and one drawing by Paula Modersohn-Becker and three paintings by her husband Otto Modersohn are now in the collection of the New Master's Gallery in the Albertinum. The artist's nephew, Dr. med. Wulf Becker-Glauch, turned the artworks over to the art collections in remembrance of Paula Modersohn-Becker's roots in Dresden.

For the first time, the Galerie Neue Meister is in the possession of works by Paula Modersohn-Becker and now owns four works by her husband Otto Modersohn. Additional to the paintings, art works from private collections and from the museum holdings will be presented, creating a very personal as well as art historical profound presentation of the works of this very odd couple.
