Outline:
The Old Masters Picture Gallery in Dresden stores one of the world's greatest holdings of paintings by the Haarlem horse, landscape and genre painter Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668). Following the restoration of three paintings by Wouwerman in Dresden, the projects includes research on infra-red reflectography, on the support, on the ground coat and on the layers of paint of the Wouwerman holdings. Above all, the research seeks answers on questions concerning the workshop process and the authorship.
