Outline
One section of the Dresden antiquities collection is the collection of antique vases, which consists of nearly 2000 objects. After the publication in 2003 of the "CVA Dresden catalogue, Volume 1", which was devoted to the South Italian vases, Volume 2 is now about to follow, containing the first part of the Attic Red Figure vases dating from the Late Archaic to the High Classical period (approx. 490-440 BCE). A total of 90 works have been scientifically investigated, described, drawn and photographed in accordance with the CVA guidelines. This research is combined with the restoration of a selection of these vases. It is planned that the Dresden vases will be published in 5 volumes as part of the CVA project.
